"I am delighted to take on this challenge at Maccabi," Keane said. "My team and I look forward to beginning work and we have confidence in our ability to do what is necessary to prepare the team for the coming season."

Keane made 28 appearances and scored seven goals during a six-month spell with the Reds in the 2008-09 season before re-signing for Tottenham Hotspur.
