CommunityReds bring Christmas cheer to local families with hamper deliveries
LFC’s community programme, Red Neighbours, and the club’s official charity, LFC Foundation, delivered the hampers to local people and families, community groups, as well as the LFC Foundation’s six community hubs across the city region.
Thanks to donations from club partners Standard Chartered, AXA, Quorn, Monster and NH Foods, each hamper was packed to support a family of four for four days and included a fresh turkey and all the trimmings, as well as some festive treats to enjoy.
Packed in LFC-branded boxes, the hampers also included hot and cold drinks, branded gifts and online cooking instructions.
The Operation Christmas Magic campaign is specifically aimed at tackling food poverty and social isolation during the build-up to Christmas.
Forbes Duff, Red Neighbours' senior manager, said: “Our Operation Christmas Magic campaign aims to support those most in need in our local communities, especially under the difficult circumstances that many people continue to face.
“We have been in the midst of the pandemic for over a year and a half, which has meant that continuing our community response work has been incredibly important to ensure that we can continue helping people in the local area through a challenging and unique situation. Again this Christmas, we wanted to continue to offer this support throughout the festive period to help tackle food poverty and social isolation in our local communities.
“It’s fantastic to see our partners coming together too, showing their support for local people and families and helping to try and make this Christmas as enjoyable as possible.”
