The Reds return to action in L4 for the second of three home games in a week and are looking to build on a fourth successive victory.

Looking ahead to the game against Fulham, the manager has called on his players to carry on the good work they have put in over recent weeks, alongside a range of other topics.

"Good evening and welcome to our home game against Fulham, a fixture which had to be rescheduled due to our opponents' involvement in the FA Cup quarter-finals, and one that we hope will turn out to be well worth the wait," Klopp writes.

"I would like to extend an especially warm welcome to Marco Silva and the players, staff and officials of Fulham Football Club and also to congratulate them on the outstanding season that they are having.

"The football that Fulham are playing and the results they are getting already seem 'normal' because both have been so consistent, but it is not normal to reach the levels that they have in the first season after promotion.

"To be 10th in the league with just five games to go speaks volumes for the work that Marco is doing. I have no idea what Fulham's expectations were when they kicked off the campaign against us back in August, but there is no doubt that they are one of this season's achievers and I could not have more respect for what they have done and the way that they have gone about it.

"For us, the message is clear – Fulham will be another really tough opponent and we have to be ready for that. We were probably among the first to realise what a strong team they are because we played them on the opening day and, if anything, they have improved further since then so it makes sense that we are absolutely ready. Certainly, it would be a big mistake if we were not.

"After our victory against Tottenham on Sunday I said there were lots of things for us to like and also some things not to like. A few days later my feelings remain exactly the same.

"The biggest positive of all is obviously that we still got the win despite suffering a late setback, but there were many others besides. I liked so much of what I saw from the boys and there is no question that this was another step in the right direction.

"This is not to say that we will now ignore the things that we did not like because we absolutely will not, but the good news is that all of the problems that we had in the game can be worked on and can be fixed.

"This is our responsibility now. We have to carry on with the work that allows us to be more stable in games, but while we do this we cannot and will not lose sight of the qualities that allowed us to score four goals and play some really good football against a Tottenham team which has more than its fair share of quality.

"The start of the game was exceptional from us. For me, it was some of the best football that we have played this season and it wasn't just the three goals we scored either; it was also the way we defended as a team. It is not an excuse – if anything it is a criticism – but it is clear that going 3-0 up as early as we did gave us some problems. We are not the first team that this has happened to and we will not be the last, but it is a problem that we should have avoided.

"From the first moment this happened it became a different game, but the most important bit of information of all is that we still found a way to win even when it looked out of the question.

"I could not be more proud of the boys at moments like this. There will always be setbacks in football so it is how you respond to them that matters most and there could not have been a better response than this.

"Diogo's finish was of the highest quality and the fact that he produced it at a moment of real pressure gives us yet another example of what he brings to our team. This was also true during the period when scoring did not come quite as easily to him as it has in recent games but, like any attacking player, he is always happier when the goals come regularly so long may this continue.

"Hopefully we will be able to bring many of the positives from Sunday into tonight's game, while improving on some of the things that we did not like as much. If we can do this we will give ourselves the best possible chance of getting another good result.

"It will not be easy, of course, but this has to be our aim."
