GalleryPhotos: Faye Kirby returns to match action as injury recovery continues
Liverpool FC Women goalkeeper Faye Kirby took another step forward in her rehabilitation from long-term injury this evening.
The 20-year-old featured for 45 minutes of an U21s friendly held at the AXA Melwood Training Centre – her first match action since sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in September 2023.
“We’re still obviously building Faye Kirby back up now, who has been in full training now for three weeks,” Reds boss Matt Beard explained on Friday. “The plan is to get her some games in the academy and then hopefully she’ll be available for the squad.”
