NewsOlivia Smith retains Liverpool FC Women Player of the Month award
The Canada international continued the brilliant start to her Reds career by claiming October's prize after finishing first in a fan vote on Liverpoolfc.com.
Smith came out on top in a close tussle with Marie Höbinger in the poll, while Cornelia Kapocs took third place.
Collecting the trophy again at the AXA Melwood Training Centre, the forward said: "It feels amazing. It's an honour but obviously it wouldn't be possible without my teammates, the staff and everyone that's a part of this club.
"Also the fans, who have been brilliant in welcoming me since I joined.
"It's amazing to have fans like we have. I always want to try my best to engage with them as much as possible because it's something that is important to me.
"It's a big part of the sport to keep the fans happy given all the hours they put in to follow us home and away so I will always try to give back through my performances on the pitch and how I am off the field.
"To know they're rooting for me and voted for me to get this award is a great feeling."
Smith was a starter in all three of Liverpool's Barclays Women's Super League matches during the month of October.
She played her part in the dramatic 3-2 win at Tottenham Hotspur before firing in from long range to open the scoring against Manchester City at Anfield.
"I don't think I could have written that any better to have my family there," she said of her special moment against City.
"That was mine and my dad's first time ever at Anfield. It was his dream so for him to see me score at Anfield against a team like Manchester City was unbelievable."
The No.11 has settled into life at Liverpool quickly since her summer move from Sporting CP and added: "I think how comfortable I feel with my teammates so soon has been a massive aspect of me being able to play my best football on the pitch, having the impact that I've had so far as well as getting to know everyone a little bit better as time goes on."
