NewsNH Foods donation supports Thailand communities in need
The generous donation by the Japan-based food group provided 2,500 emergency dry food packs, which were distributed to communities in high need across the festive period.
Facilitated in Thailand by LFC Foundation’s global children’s charity partner, Right To Play, the food packs will provide 43,750 meals and support 12,500 of the most vulnerable people in food poverty.
The need for support in Thailand is more important than ever as the devastating effects of the pandemic continue to have an impact on some of the poorest communities, affecting many children and their families.
The food packs, which will provide a family with enough food for two to three weeks, were distributed among some of the hardest-hit regions in Bangkok, including the communities of Suanploo, Haroon, Rongmoo, and Rim Thang Rotfai Sai Tha Rua.
LFC Foundation – the Reds’ official charity – and Right To Play work in partnership in these communities to deliver the Side by Side programme, which uses the power of sport and play to help vulnerable children in Bangkok.
Matt Parish, chief executive of LFC Foundation, said: “I would like to extend my thanks to NH Foods for their generous donation to help local people in food crisis in Thailand.
“Their support has enabled our charity partner, Right To Play, to provide thousands of meals on the ground in Thailand to local people and families in need, which will make such a difference to their lives over the festive period.”
Neil Child-Dyer, senior partnerships manager at Right To Play UK, said: “On behalf of Right To Play and the Side by Side communities in Bangkok, I would like to thank NH Foods for their generous donation. It will make such a huge difference to the families in these communities in what has been a challenging time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Fumio Maeda, director and managing executive officer of NH Foods Ltd, commented: "We are delighted to support this opportunity in Thailand."
