NewsMo Salah wins Liverpool's Standard Chartered Men's Player of the Season award
Mohamed Salah has been voted the winner of Liverpool's Standard Chartered Men's Player of the Season award.
The Egyptian came out on top for 2023-24 in a poll on Liverpoolfc.com – ahead of Virgil van Dijk and Alexis Mac Allister, who finished second and third respectively – to claim the accolade for the fourth time in his seven years at Anfield so far.
Salah was the Reds' top scorer in the campaign with 25 goals in all competitions and his tally of 13 assists was the joint-most within the squad alongside Darwin Nunez.
In total, the No.11 had 38 goal involvements from his 44 appearances to help his side lift the Carabao Cup and secure Champions League qualification via a third-placed finish in the Premier League.
Salah started the season in typically brilliant form and won all three Standard Chartered Player of the Month prizes on offer between September and November, as well as receiving the Premier League's award in October.
After climbing above Steven Gerrard to take fifth place on the club's all-time top scorers list, he was on the scoresheet at Crystal Palace in December to reach the milestone of 200 goals – joining esteemed company in Ian Rush, Roger Hunt, Gordon Hodgson and Billy Liddell as double centurions for Liverpool.

An injury while at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt disrupted his campaign but Salah would return to accomplish a feat no other Red had previously done.
Netting in a Europa League victory over Sparta Prague at Anfield, the forward arrived at the 20-goal mark for the seventh consecutive season. That game also saw him produce a hat-trick of assists.
And by scoring and assisting in last month's 4-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur, Salah became the first player in Premier League history to reach double figures in both goals and assists for three seasons in a row.
Salah's fourth Liverpool Player of the Season honour comes after he also clinched the award at the end of the 2017-18, 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns.
