NewsMissy Bo Kearns voted LFC Women's Standard Chartered Player of the Month

The award represents a notable double for the Reds midfielder, who also topped the fan vote in February.

March saw the 22-year-old score the winner at Prenton Park in an important Barclays Women's Super League clash with Tottenham Hotspur, while Matt Beard's side also took another point at Everton in a strong display in front of more than 22,000 supporters.

After claiming the award, Kearns told Liverpoolfc.com: "It's nice to be recognised again but we're doing well as a team and I wouldn't be getting anywhere without all the hard work of my teammates and the staff, so a massive thank you to all of them.

"To get the winning goal against Tottenham was brilliant and on the back of that we delivered a really strong team performance in the derby."

Goals from midfield have been a feature of the Reds' play in recent games, with Kearns' teammate Ceri Holland scoring twice on Sunday to secure three points against Brighton & Hove Albion at Prenton Park.

Kearns believes the arrival of fellow midfielder Fuka Nagano in January continues to have an impact.

"Having the three of us in midfield, it gives you more licence to get in goalscoring positions," she said. "Since Fuka came in, you can see that we're getting chances most weeks.

"We're at the business end of the season now and there's big games every week. Every team you play are tough and there's no easy games in this league. But as a team we've gelled really well and stuck together throughout the season."
