Mia Enderby is a young forward with a burning desire to fulfil her footballing dreams with Liverpool FC Women.

The 18-year-old became Matt Beard’s third summer signing following her arrival from Sheffield United Women today.

Enderby enjoyed a superb campaign in the FA Women’s Championship last season, with her form catching the eye of Beard.

After putting pen to paper with the Reds, Enderby sat down to discuss her move - and you can watch or read her first interview as a Liverpool player below.

On signing for LFC Women…

It’s like a dream come true really. Ever since I was young I wanted to be in the WSL. I remember when I was younger speaking to my mum and telling her all I ever want to be is a footballer and my dream is to be the best I can be for my country and also my club. I’m really pleased and this is a big moment for me and my family.

On her qualities as a player…

I’m a fast and creative player and I like to get forward and I like taking on defenders. I like scoring goals because obviously that’s what forwards do and I really enjoy assisting my teammates as well. Hopefully I can bring that here. Throughout my youth I’ve always been used to playing in different areas of the pitch, so I think having that versatility is really important because that can influence my game and help me become the best that I can be.

On what she feels she can add to the forward line at Liverpool…

They have got lots of brilliant players here and the forward line is amazing. Leanne Kiernan, I’ve been watching her for a while now. I want to be like her and I still want to be like her. Now that I’m playing with her and training with her that is really important.

Hopefully I can add more goals and assists and help the team. I just want to be the best that I can be, learn from all the experienced players here and hopefully hit the ground running once I get my minutes.

On being capped at U19 level by England...

I couldn’t believe it when I got the call-up and it was a shock, to be honest. It’s every kid’s dream to put an England shirt on and play for your country so I’m really honoured to be doing that.

On her journey so far…

I started playing when I was around eight playing for my local team. It was hard because I was the only girl in a boys team but I just turned the negativity into a positive. I then went to Leeds United’s academy and then moved to Sheffield United and managed to get straight into the first team, and now I’m here living my dream. One hundred per cent, without my mum I wouldn’t be where I am now. She’s my rock basically and she has helped me throughout my career.
