Liverpool 'in talks' over potential transfer for Nice wonderkid
Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Pedro Brazão's agent as they weigh up a swoop for the teenage Nice attacker.
But Jurgen Klopp's side face competition from PSG, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon for the 17-year-old winger.
Liverpool have already made two signings since New Year, with attacking midfielder Takumi Minamino having arrived from Red Bull Salzburg, and striker Joe Hardy joining the U23s from Brentford.
And the Reds could be poised to land a third new recruit if they can beat their rivals in the race to sign highly-rated Brazão.
After reports emerged last week that Liverpool were considering a swoop, French publication Footmercato has claimed that both the Reds and PSG have already contacted Brazão's representatives over a possible transfer.
However, Brazão is contracted to Nice until 2022, so the ball is in the French club's court over whether or not they want to sell.
Brazão is a left winger but can also play on the right flank or as an attacking midfielder.
After progressing with Nice's U19s, Brazão joined the club's senior set-up in pre-season and earned a decent amount of playing time, suggesting he was nearing his breakthrough into the first team.
He has so far made just one substitute appearance so far this season, but according to the reports coming out of France it appears Liverpool are hoping to yet again steal a march on their rivals by snapping him up early.
Klopp's side were quick to act in luring Minamino following his impressive Champions league displays for Salzburg, wrapping the deal up early so he could sign on January 1, the day the transfer window opened.
And they will hope to be similarly ahead of the game if they choose to swoop for Brazão, who has two caps for Portugal U19s.
