Liverpool linked with Bayern Munich star
Liverpool are showing an interest in Bayern Munich's young midfielder Renato Sanches, according to German publication Kicker.
Sanches, now 20, moved to Bayern in deal upwards of £30m last summer from Benfica.
Sanches had impressed playing in Portugal and for his country in the European Championships. He had been linked with a whole host of top European clubs.
The powerful midfielder struggled in his first season in Munich, however, making just 17 appearances in all competitions and failing to nail down a regular place in midfield.
That has led to speculation about a move away - either permanently or on loan - this summer, and with Liverpool missing out on top target Naby Keita this summer, Kicker believe they could be interested in striking a deal.
It remains doubtful, however, that Jurgen Klopp would want to loan the player and allow him to develop at Liverpool before sending him back to Bayern.
Perhaps a permanent deal could work, but it's unlikely Bayern Munich would want to lose the player on the cheap this summer.
