WatchMatt Parish on LFC Foundation's most successful and impactful season to date

Parish reflected on the many highlights for the charity during 2023-24, from its sold-out official legends charity match at Anfield to the release of its third social impact report, recent award wins and plans for the next campaign.

Discussing LFC Foundation’s impact, Parish said: “It’s our biggest ever, we’ve supported over 122,000 participants and generated a social value of over £80 million, which for every £1 raised we turn it into £14 worth of value for our communities, which we are super-proud of.”

LFC Foundation recently celebrated its participants and the local community heroes who help them to achieve this at its annual Community Awards at Anfield.

On welcoming 60,000 fans to Anfield in March, Parish revealed this year’s legends charity match against Ajax Legends was “our biggest and best legends game so far, with [Fernando] Torres, [Steven] Gerrard, the Sven [-Goran Eriksson] effect as well and raising £1.2 million that will focus on developing and supporting our education programmes across the Liverpool City Region.”

Parish also addressed his pride at LFC Foundation being crowned the best PL Community Scheme at the Football Business Awards and, speaking about the charity’s ambitions for the upcoming season and future, he added: “We want to support more people, generate more income to enable us to do that.

“We want to grow the work we do here where we are having the most impact and expand our work internationally in the next three to five years.”
