Virgil van Dijk’s first Premier League goal of the season quickly cancelled out an early opener from Bukayo Saka, but Mikel Merino headed the hosts back into the lead shortly before half-time.

However, the visitors would claim a point thanks to Mohamed Salah’s 163rd Premier League goal – a close-range strike in the 81st minute that moved him level with Robbie Fowler in joint-eighth on the division’s all-time leading scorers list.
