Programme notes'Luis Diaz's return has been a massive help - you can see his impact'
Having made three substitute appearances following a six-month lay-off due to a knee injury, Diaz has started the Reds’ last two matches – victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham respectively.
The Colombia forward scored his first goal since August in the 4-3 win against Spurs and, in his notes for the official matchday programme for Saturday’s meeting with Brentford, Klopp writes: “I have been very pleased with the impact that Luis Diaz has made since returning from injury.
“Most of this season has been difficult for Luis because of the problems he has had, but from the first second he came back onto the pitch he has played with a smile on his face and looked almost as if he has never been away.
“Having Luis back for this particular run of games has been a massive help and you can see the impact that he has on his teammates and the opposition.
“He gives us a different threat and brings a different profile to our attack which is why it is so helpful to have him back in the team, doing what he does.”
Klopp’s team head into this afternoon’s clash with the Bees on a run of five consecutive Premier League victories.
The boss states: “The run we have been on of late has been really positive, both in terms of the football we have played and the results we have earned.
“Winning any number of games in a row is never, ever easy – if it was, everyone would do it a lot more often – so I have to give a lot of credit to the boys for what they are doing.
“The mental and physical requirements of playing Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday are there for all to see and at times it feels as much of an endurance test as a football challenge.
“It is a sequence which is not easy, let me say it like this, but we are in good shape and this is credit to the players and our staff for the effort they put in from one day to the next.”
