Eight Liverpool players were in action for their loan clubs over the weekend.

In the Championship, Tyler Morton started and played all of Blackburn Rovers' 2-1 home win over Millwall on Saturday.

A division below, Conor Bradley also tasted victory as Bolton Wanderers ran out 2-0 winners against Lincoln City.

Adam Lewis and Vitezslav Jaros were both starters in League Two fixtures, with Lewis providing the assist for the goal that opened the scoring in Newport County's 2-1 success versus Leyton Orient. Jaros' Stockport County drew 1-1 with Walsall.

On Sunday, Sepp van den Berg began Schalke 04's 3-2 loss against Augsburg but was taken to hospital after sustaining a serious-looking injury in the second half.

Meanwhile, there were defeats for Marcelo Pitaluga, Fidel O'Rourke and Jakub Ojrzynski across the weekend.

Pitaluga's Macclesfield FC were beaten 2-1 by Bootle, as fellow goalkeeper Ojrzynski played in Radomiak Radom's loss to MKS Cracovia.

O'Rourke and Caernarfon Town were downed 3-1 by Pontypridd United.
