NewsLoan watch: Balagizi nets twice, Bradley strikes again
The 18-year-old recorded the first senior goals of his career at Broadfield Stadium, though they came in a losing cause as Kevin Betsy’s outfit were beaten 3-2 by visitors Northampton Town.
Balagizi finished off two well-worked moves for his side as he completed the full match.
“Obviously coming away to play professional football, you dream of that as a kid, scoring your first goal,” Balagizi reflected post-match.
“I’m really happy to do it here. It’s unfortunate with the result, but I’m really happy to get my first two goals.
“I’ve been working with the coaches on my finishing. I’ve had a couple of chances in other games but thankfully the work I’ve been putting in is starting to show off.”
Elsewhere, Conor Bradley bagged a winner for Bolton Wanderers to help his side to a 1-0 victory over Morecambe in League One – also landing the Player of the Match award.
The full-back has now bagged two goals and two assists in five games under Ian Evatt’s watch.
“It was a brilliant feeling to score again,” Bradley said. “I’m just really happy with the three points. It was a hard-grafted three points and the boys are buzzing.
“I’m loving it here so far. Since I’ve come here, the boys have been brilliant with me. They’ve helped me settle in really well.
“I wouldn’t have been expecting to be joint-top goalscorer, but we’ll take it and keep going and keep working hard.”
Rhys Williams helped Blackpool to a clean sheet, with the Seasiders defeating Queens Park Rangers 1-0 at Loftus Road in the Championship.
Ten-man Stockport County were beaten 2-1 by Doncaster Rovers in League Two as Vitezslav Jaros featured in goal.
In the same division, Adam Lewis completed 58 minutes of Newport County’s 3-2 home defeat by Salford City, while goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga aided Macclesfield FC’s 3-1 victory over Leek Town in the Northern Premier League Division One West.
