Match reportLiverpool U21s score four in Premier League 2 win at Crystal Palace
Liverpool U21s ran out 4-2 winners away at Crystal Palace in Premier League 2 on Sunday afternoon.
The young Reds went behind in the contest following Ademola Ola-Adebomi's 12th-minute opener, which drew a response from Mateusz Musialowski just past the half-hour mark.
Moments after Palace had Justin Devenny sent off for two bookings, Paul Glatzel put the visitors 2-1 up three minutes prior to half-time.
Lewis Koumas then made sure of the points with finishes in minutes 51 and 86, before Franco Umeh netted a consolation deep into added time.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com post-match, U21s head coach Barry Lewtas said: "It was a big win in terms of the performance.
"I thought we started fantastically well considering that was a really experienced Crystal Palace team. We had some real close games with them last year but that was a real experienced one.
"To start the game the way we did was really important. We had two 16-year-olds at centre-back and they played with brilliant maturity.
"We went a goal behind but I think we showed real good character in terms of how we responded to that.
"Obviously when they went down to 10 men, it changes the game but I don't think the momentum of the game changed. I still felt we were the team in the ascendancy and, in the end, it was a good result."
