AcademyLiverpool U18s volunteer support for local community projects
Taking the players out of their comfort zone and visiting the community is a big part of their education, and Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's side are regular visitors to this site.
This project is supported by FareShare and the Spirit of Shankly supporters group.
In volunteering their services on a weekly basis, the players have provided valuable support to staff in setting up the pantry and organising the produce available.
They have also been on hand to assist service users in accessing the pantry and provide assistance to the local community.
Paul Khan, chair of Spirit of Shankly and The Greenhouse Project, said: "It has been great to see the U18 players every week, which is testament to the connection between the club and the local community.
"The players have been a credit to themselves and the club and we look forward to seeing them at the pantry in the New Year."
In addition to this, the U18s have offered their time and services on a weekly basis to The Whitechapel Centre.
The Whitechapel Centre is a charity that offers support to people within the city who are homeless or rough sleeping.
This commitment to The Whitechapel Centre has seen the U18 players volunteer at a local distribution centre that deals with donations of food, clothes and toiletries, alongside other donations.
Both of these experiences have assisted the holistic development of the players, as part of the 'Community & Society' strand of the club's life skills and personal development programme for the age group.
