Match reportLiverpool FC Women held by Charlton Athletic at Prenton Park
Matt Beard's side had to settle for a point in the FA Women's Championship fixture after being denied on multiple occasions by visiting goalkeeper Eartha Cumings.
The result does, however, extend the Reds' lead at the top of table to eight points, with second-placed Bristol City not in action this weekend.
Clear-cut chances were few and far between for both sides during an even opening.
Taylor Hinds hit a long-range shot that forced Cumings into a save, while at the other end Jasmine Matthews made an important block on an effort from Emma Follis.
Towards the end of the first half, Cumings again was called into action, keeping out a Charlotte Wardlaw hit from the edge of the box after Charlton only half-cleared a free-kick.
Liverpool were again frustrated by the Charlton stopper shortly after the break. Yana Daniels' near-post flick from a Carla Humphrey corner was brilliantly palmed away by Cumings.
Charlton posed a threat on the counter during the second half as they absorbed pressure from the hosts.
Ella Rutherford fired over from inside the penalty area, before Daniels had to make a vital clearance following the Charlton No.19's poked effort from a corner.
Encouraged by the home crowd, the Reds pressed hard for a winner.
Rachel Furness watched her sliced shot flash just the wrong side of the post and substitute Leanne Kiernan was denied by a fine reaction stop from Cumings.
Katie Stengel spun past her defender and delivered a perfect cut-back for Kiernan, whose first-time finish was kept out by the foot of Cumings.
Charlton then dug in and held on to ensure the points were shared.
