AnnouncementLiverpool FC statement on kick-off delays
The key learnings and improvements made overnight, as well as the valued co-operation of our supporters who adapted quickly to the latest advice issued has meant this evening’s game saw greatly improved flow rates at our turnstiles.
However, in order to allow supporters to get inside the stadium as quickly and safely as possible, it was decided that kick-off should be delayed for 15 minutes.
These pre-season games at Anfield were always intended to test our new technology and have identified several key issues our teams will work hard to resolve ahead of the first home game of the season.
We thank our fans for their support and continued co-operation as we try to find the best solutions to ensure the safety of our supporters.
