NewsLiverpool FC qualifiers decided for ePremier League grand finals
As part of the live club play-offs held online this week, 10 players battled it out for two coveted spots to represent the Reds.
Among those gamers was Liverpool player Diogo Jota, who was defeated by Bachoore in the final round on PlayStation 5. Bachoore, who holds the title of 2023 eSports World Cup champion, was one of LFC's fast-tracked players and also plays on Jota's eSports team.
Lekhal – LFC's other fast-tracked player, who plays for Jota's eSports team as well – came out on top of those playing on Xbox, after he beat Mskiio.
In November, LFC opened online qualification for the ePremier League tournament, with thousands of fans taking part in this season's online qualification on PS5 and Xbox. The best players earned a spot in the live play-offs to see if they had what it takes to reach the finals and ultimately be crowned ePL champion 2024-25.
The two winning LFC players will now come up against 38 representatives from the other 19 Premier League clubs in the grand finals, which will be played over two action-packed weekends. The group stages will take place on March 1 and 2, with the four leading clubs booking their spots in the grand final.
The 16 remaining teams will then have a second chance to join them by playing again on March 22, ahead of the grand final the next day. The format of this season's finals will see clubs working collaboratively again, with one player competing per console in a series of one-v-one matches against pairings from other teams.
Players will compete in the tournament on the newly released EA SPORTS FC™ 25, with a £100,000 prize pool on offer and seats available for the winning club in the UEFA eChampions League and the FC Pro World Championships.
The player who defeats all other competition will be crowned ePL champion and will walk away with £30,000 in prize money, with the runner-up taking home £15,000 for themselves.
