ClubLiverpool FC and Extreme Networks launch new Anfield Wi-Fi to enhance fan experience
The new Wi-Fi 6 network – provided by Extreme Networks, Liverpool FC's official Wi-Fi network solutions and analytics partner – will deliver high-speed wireless connectivity throughout the stadium.
With this upgrade, fans can look forward to an improved in-stadium fan experience, allowing them to better take advantage of the club's digital offerings including the official LFC app, mobile ticketing, membership rewards and cash-free concessions.
Drew Crisp, senior vice-president of digital at LFC, said: "Liverpool FC is committed to providing fans with the best matchday experience. The new Wi-Fi in partnership with Extreme Networks is an integral part of our digital strategy and will allow us to keep innovating and enhancing the fan experience at Anfield.
"Extreme Networks is trusted by the world's biggest sports franchises and has a proven track record of delivering high-performance networks in some of the most demanding sport and entertainment environments. We're excited to be able to offer faster and more reliable connectivity for all fans on matchdays."
In addition, the integration of ExtremeAnalytics will provide insight into valuable fan data such as fan foot traffic and app usage across the stadium. This will allow the club to make informed decisions that deliver more personalised fan experiences and improve operational efficiencies on matchdays.
It will also provide the club with the infrastructure to roll out pioneering and immersive new services for fans in the future.
Norman Rice, chief commercial officer at Extreme Networks, said: "Today's fans expect modern amenities, even when they're visiting an almost-140-year-old stadium.
"Whether it's moving through the gates quicker, identifying the shortest lines at the concession stands or getting reliable and consistent connectivity to watch highlights from other games during half-time, we've brought Anfield into the future and helped prepare LFC for new generations of fans to enjoy matchday in a more modern way."
The Wi-Fi 6 will be fully available throughout Anfield starting during Liverpool's pre-season fixture against Sevilla on August 11.
