NewsLFC Women's pre-season friendly with Manchester United called off
By Liverpool FC
The pre-season game was due to be played at Carrington (August 25) but will now not go ahead.
LFC Women manager Matt Beard told Liverpoolfc.com: “Unfortunately, over the last few weeks we’ve picked up a number of injuries to players who were involved in the international window during the close-season.
“This has limited the availability of the squad, so it’s best that we take this opportunity to have a bit of a reset.
“I’d like to thank the staff and players at Manchester United for their understanding and of course apologise to them for the disruption.
“We need to think of the bigger picture for the team and, of course, all focus is on building up to that opening game of the season against Leicester City on September 22.”
