NewsLFC Women injury update: Taylor Hinds and Leanne Kiernan

Hinds has been ruled out with a calf injury she sustained in training on Friday, while the Prenton Park encounter comes too soon for Kiernan as she edges closer to a return.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Saturday, Reds boss Matt Beard said: "Just Leanne Kiernan and Taylor Hinds will be out.

"Leanne has trained this week but she will need another week. Taylor unfortunately got a calf strain yesterday in training, so we just need to assess that to see the timescale on that."

Beard continued: "Obviously it's a blow to lose Taylor. We were just talking this morning and I think it's the first game she's missed at the club through injury.

"Obviously it's a blow but it presents opportunities for other players and Jas [Matthews] will get that opportunity."
