NewsLFC Women injury update: Koivisto, Daniels, Fahey, Hinds, Matthews and Van de Sanden
The manager offered the latest on the fitness of captain Niamh Fahey, Yana Daniels, Taylor Hinds, Emma Koivisto, Jasmine Matthews and Shanice van de Sanden.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference at the AXA Melwood Training Centre, Beard said: "Emma is fit. We've lost obviously Jas. We've lost Yana Daniels to concussion.
"Niamh Fahey will be out now – she's had a scan on her calf and she'll be out for a few weeks.
"Shanice van de Sanden, her ankle has flared up again, so we need to offload her just to let her settle down.
"We've got Taylor Hinds back in the squad – she'll be available from the bench.
"We've had a few issues this week but it presents opportunities for other people and nine times out of 10 when opportunities have arisen, they've been taken."
On Matthews, he added: "She's got a tear in her hamstring. It's not as bad as first feared, so that's good.
"She'll probably be out for three weeks maybe. I guess this little break that we've got after Man City comes at a good time, obviously with the injuries that we've picked up in the last few weeks."
