NewsLFC Women injury latest: Updates on Haug, Lawley, Kiernan and Van de Sanden
The striker has returned to the AXA Melwood Training Centre this week after suffering a collision when she was representing Norway against Portugal.
Haug will be assessed ahead of the Reds' Barclays Women's Super League season-opener, which comes against Arsenal Women at Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Manager Matt Beard told his pre-match press conference on Friday: "Sophie, I don't have an update just yet, she's seeing a specialist tomorrow, but she got the all-clear to fly back on Wednesday of this week.
"I'll know more on Sophie tomorrow whether she can play with a mask going forward.
"Everyone else injury-wise, obviously we've got Zara [Shaw] and Faye [Kirby] out with ACLs and they'll be out for the full season.
"Mel Lawley has flown through her rehab and she's back in team training now, so I would have thought she'll be a couple of weeks away from team selection. I think maybe next week might be too soon for her, but she's done really well and we'll see how she gets on.
"Leanne Kiernan is now pain-free, which is great. She's back on the pitch running, her next stage will be change of direction, and then as long as she's comfortable with that, we should start to see her integrated back into team training in the coming weeks, and then similar with Shanice van de Sanden.
"They're both not a million miles away, but we're probably looking at another three or four weeks with them. [Niamh] Fahey was six to eight weeks and we're a couple of weeks into the rehab now."
