CommunityLFC supports local communities during Easter
The club’s Red Neighbours team delivered 280 breakfast hampers to 28 schools across Anfield and Kirkby to support local pupils and their families during the half-term break, as part of its ‘Breakfast to You’ initiative.
The hampers, which contained enough food to feed a family of four, included essentials such as fruit, bread, milk, cereal, eggs and much more. They also contained team photos and Mighty Red activity sheets to keep the youngsters entertained during half-term.
LFC Foundation, the club’s official charity, provided 560 packed lunches across its activity camps and distributed 220 essential food parcels to their Community Hubs across Anfield, Kirkby, Bootle, Toxteth and Birkenhead to support even more local families in need.
To celebrate Easter, the Red Neighbours team also donated 500 chocolate eggs to the local community in Kirkby, ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.
The eggs, which were delivered by LFC’s stores team, were used to host a number of events over the Easter break, including a huge Easter egg hunt around Northwood and a mascot-themed Easter parade hosted by Southdene community centre. Various mascots and the Easter bunny visited some local families within the community, bringing fun and smiles all around.
Forbes Duff, senior manager, Red Neighbours, said: “We were delighted to be able to share the spirit of Easter with our local communities and provide essential food support to young people and families.
“We recognise that school holidays put extra financial pressures on families across our city region, so it’s important for us to help where we can.”
