NewsLFC names Premier League Community Captain

The Premier League is celebrating Community Captains as part of its ‘More Than A Game’ campaign, which will be visible at all Premier League matches from February 17 to 26, to showcase how its investment into all levels of football and funding for club community programmes positively impacts the lives of millions.

Nick is schools programme manager for LFC Foundation and has been with the organisation for almost 10 years, starting as a casual member of staff and developing into a key manager who is helping to change lives through his everyday work.

He was presented with a bespoke print, captain’s armband and pennant by LFC CEO Billy Hogan and LFC Foundation chief executive Matt Parish when the Reds hosted Burnley at Anfield earlier this month, a game that celebrated the work of LFC Foundation.

After receiving his award, Nick was invited to the AXA Training Centre, where he was congratulated by manager Jürgen Klopp and members of the men’s squad.

“I’m proud to be nominated as this season’s Premier League Community Captain,” he said. “As the schools programme manager for LFC Foundation, I’m honoured that my role allows me to create positive change and leave a lasting legacy in the lives of young people across the Liverpool City Region.”

Thanks to Nick and his team, thousands of young people have been able to develop crucial life skills while simultaneously having their education supported.

By intertwining education and the cultivation of essential life skills, he ensures that the impact extends far beyond the sports. This approach not only enriches the lives of the youths but also equips them with tools for personal and academic success.

While supporting the young people he works with is key, Nick also supports schools and teachers directly through bespoke provisions.

Nick’s dedication echoes the ethos of LFC Foundation, emphasising the power of sport and physical activity as catalysts for positive change in young lives. The ripple effect of his work extends into the community, creating a lasting legacy of empowerment, skill development, and a genuine passion for a healthy and active lifestyle.
