NewsLFC Foundation to host fundraising 'An Evening with LFC Legends' in Pittsburgh

The special event, in association with the Pittsburgh Penguins, is the first of its kind for LFC Foundation in the USA and will take place on Thursday July 25 at the PPG Paints Arena.

Ian Rush, John Barnes, Natasha Dowie, Sami Hyypia and Gary McAllister will share their stories and take questions, and Liverpool musician Jamie Webster will perform on the night, with all proceeds from the event supporting the work of LFC Foundation in the USA.

The evening will also feature live music, a raffle and an auction with the chance to take home a piece of unique LFC memorabilia.

While the club’s official charity is known for its ongoing impact across the Liverpool City Region, its overseas programmes have grown in recent years, including in the USA, and all funds it raises during this year’s tour will stay in the USA to support the foundation’s work.

There are platinum and gold packages available for the event – for full details on the packages or to purchase your ticket, please go here.

LFC Foundation’s employability and training programme in the USA predominantly supports 16- to 18-year-olds and targets participants from disadvantaged backgrounds that are at risk of not attending college and would face long-term unemployment in the future.

The programme consists of employability sessions, mentoring and work experience with the aim of supporting participants to build on their employability skills and gain knowledge of local industries.

Through the strong partnerships with local organisations, LFC Foundation is having a positive impact on young people’s lives in the areas most in need.

Matt Parish, chief executive of LFC Foundation, said: “We are delighted to host our first event like this in the US and we can’t wait to celebrate what is sure to be a special night.

“All funds that we raise throughout this summer’s pre-season tour will remain in the US and help to further develop the work we do there, which is fantastic.”
