2021-22LFC continues plans for fans' return
Liverpool FC is continuing with its preparations to welcome back supporters for the new season, following the government's latest announcement.
After a season without supporters, both home and away fans are expected to return for 2021-22 at the homes of both the men’s and women’s teams, Anfield and Prenton Park.
Working closely with city partners Liverpool City Council, Wirral Council, Merseyside Police and Spirit of Shankly, the club will continue to prioritise the safety of returning supporters, staff, players and local communities. LFC will also continue to work with football’s governing bodies to adhere to their current guidelines and advice regarding any safety restrictions.
The Premier League has advised that some restrictions with existing safety zones will remain in place, which may have a small impact on the overall capacity at Anfield. The club is working through its matchday plans and will update fans accordingly and ahead of the start of the season.
Season ticket and hospitality season ticket renewals are complete; matchday hospitality sales will be launched this week; and the LFC Members ticket sale will be announced later this month.
Phil Dutton, vice-president of ticketing and hospitality at Liverpool FC, said: “Based on the latest advice and guidance, we are continuing with our plans to welcome supporters back next season to near full capacity stadiums.
“The safety of everyone attending matches will remain our absolute priority and we will continue to work with all our football partners to ensure we adhere to the required protocols and guidance.
“We will continue to be in direct contact with all our season ticket holders, Members and seasonal hospitality members over the coming days and weeks to confirm the arrangements for next season. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back.”
LFC will also work in partnership with Liverpool City Council’s GSAG (Ground Safety Advisory Group) on all of its matchday planning arrangements.
Matt Ashton, director of public health at Liverpool City Council, said: “The return of football fans to both Anfield and Prenton for the new season is great news as we slowly return to normality.
“Ahead of each match, we would like to ask home and away supporters to still adhere to the COVID safety measures of hands, face, space to keep each other safe.
“We also encourage everybody to get vaccinated and to take a lateral flow test before they come to the game. Testing kits are available from various locations within the community and can even be sent directly to their home. The test takes no time at all and does not hurt. By getting a negative result, fans will be able to watch the game with the peace of mind that they are doing so safely.”
Supporters will be updated with all next season’s matchday plans as they happen.
LFC would like to thank supporters for their patience and understanding as we navigate our way through the return to full capacities.
