NewsLFC and Her Game Too to tackle sexism in football
LFC and Her Game Too share the same goal of making football a welcoming environment for women and girls of all ages. This collaboration will further enhance the work the club continues to do through the Red Together initiative, its ongoing commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Her Game Too has already been working with Official Liverpool Supporters Clubs in raising awareness of the campaign across the club’s global fan base, and will continue that alongside its work with LFC.
As well as educating staff and colleagues, the work with Her Game Too will focus on the reporting of any incidents of sexism and misogyny in the stadium, and online, and will form part of LFC’s wider Stop The Hate campaign.
Rishi Jain, senior equality, diversity and inclusion manager at LFC, said: “Liverpool FC is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in everything we do and our work with Her Game Too will be a continuation of that commitment.
“There has already been some fantastic progress made in this area but through this partnership we hope to use the power of football and LFC to make a positive change and create a more welcoming environment for all supporters, regardless of gender.”
Roopa Vyas, LFC’s Her Game Too ambassador, said: “As a female fan myself, I know how important it is to feel welcomed and included in the football community and this partnership is a huge step forward in achieving that.
“From a personal perspective, I am privileged to represent female Liverpool FC fans across the globe through Her Game Too and am so thrilled to see my club pledge their support to the campaign.”
