AcademyLFC Academy pay respects in Turin ahead of UEFA Youth League tie
Liverpool FC Academy paid its respects to the victims of the Heysel disaster on Tuesday before the UEFA Youth League quarter-final against Juventus in Turin.
Academy manager Alex Inglethorpe handed over a wreath to Gianluca Pessotto, Juventus’ staff coordination manager, bearing the message ‘In Memoria e Amicizia’ – ‘In Memory and Friendship’.
Thirty-nine people – mostly Juventus supporters – tragically lost their lives at the 1985 European Cup final between the two clubs at Heysel Stadium in Brussels.
