TransferLeighton Clarkson makes loan move to Aberdeen
Liverpool midfielder Leighton Clarkson has joined Aberdeen on loan for 2022-23.
The 20-year-old will spend the duration of this season with the Scottish Premiership side after the deal was completed today.
A graduate of the Reds’ Academy having joined at the age of six, Clarkson has made three appearances at senior level under Jürgen Klopp.
Following outings in the League Cup and FA Cup in 2019-20, he started for the first team in the Champions League tie at FC Midtjylland in December 2020.
Clarkson spent time on loan with hometown club Blackburn Rovers in the last campaign and will now aim to enhance his experience at Aberdeen.
Jim Goodwin’s side play their second match of the new league season at home to St Mirren this afternoon.
