Liverpool are hopeful of agreeing a new contract with Jürgen Klopp to extend his stay at the club beyond 2024.

It is understood the Reds boss has suggested he would be open to a further deal at Anfield, where he has been in charge since October 2015.

Mike Gordon, the president of Fenway Sports Group and influential in the running of the club, was at Wednesday's Champions League semi-final first leg against Villarreal, where he was sat near Klopp's agent Marc Kosicke.
