ReactionJordan Henderson: We keep momentum going - and strive for consistency
The Reds ultimately saw off Forest 3-2 in Saturday’s Premier League clash at Anfield, which became hugely topsy-turvy after a goalless first half.
Diogo Jota twice put the home side in front but the visitors levelled on each occasion, first through Neco Williams and then Morgan Gibbs-White.
Mohamed Salah had the final say, however, prodding in from a Trent Alexander-Arnold set-piece to ensure Liverpool followed up their win at Leeds United with another three points.

Read the chat with the captain below…
On finding a way to win and it being a nervy game at times…
Yeah, we made it difficult, [it’s] never easy with us but we managed to get the job done, which was the most important thing. Obviously the long throws were killing us a little bit so that’s something we need to be better at, definitely, especially off the second ball off them. But hopefully we can learn from that and there was no damage done with the three points in the end.
On needing to show patience to find a breakthrough…
We knew we were going to have to be patient, we knew they would be [in a] low block and make it difficult, man-v-man marking mostly, which is always a challenge. But you’ve got to try to be patient and wait for the right moment. We had one or two half-chances in the first half where we could have probably took the lead but it’s about keep doing the right things and being patient in the second half to finally get the breakthrough, which we did. But then from then on we can improve and probably should have gone on to win the game comfortably in the end.
On Jota scoring a brace for the second successive game…
He gets himself in some great positions and normally when he gets in there and gets the ball he can finish them off. He’s just starting to find his rhythm after being out with injury for a long time. It’s nice to see him back in the goals and full of confidence. Hopefully he can continue that from now until the end of the season.
On the confidence strikers take from getting one goal…
I think so, it looks that way definitely with Jots and obviously Mo has got another one today. Hopefully we can continue [that]. But, at the same time, we can be better defensively as a whole team – not just the defenders but the whole team can defend, especially those set-plays, better and manage the game a little bit better. So, that’s something we can work on. But overall I think there were a lot of positives from today and the three points as well so we can keep the momentum going.
On whether Liverpool have to just take it game by game now…
Again, for us we just need to get back to that consistency and performing every week. I think that’s the most important thing, I don’t think we can set too big a challenge and think too far ahead because we haven’t been consistent enough this season and it’s about finding that consistency again in performance. When you do that, the results will follow. That’s been the case over the last few games and hopefully we can continue that until the end.
