Jayden Danns was delighted to experience the feeling of scoring for Liverpool in the Emirates FA Cup again.

The 18-year-old came off the bench against Accrington Stanley on Saturday lunchtime to net the Reds' third goal of the 4-0 win at Anfield.

His instinctive 76th-minute finish at the Kop end took his tally for the senior team to three, having put a double past Southampton in the same competition last season.

The Scouser told ITV Sport post-match: "Obviously delighted to get my goal. I don't know what it is [about the FA Cup] but [I'm] buzzing to keep scoring!

"Obviously the manager has put faith in me today and I'm grateful for it. I scored and I'm really grateful for the opportunity he's given me. Hopefully I can do even more [and] he gives me more opportunities.

"They [Accrington] offered a lot. It's tough, first-team football is a completely different level [with] big lads. So when I'm coming on, it's tough to keep the ball but it's a good challenge. I think I did well but hopefully more to come."

Danns was introduced to the third-round tie four minutes before he found the back of the net, representing his second appearance of 2024-25 for Arne Slot's side.

Now back fit again after a long-term injury, the striker was eager to make the most of his opportunity.

He continued: "I've been out for a while – five months. So coming back, first-team football is a different intensity to any football. So, just work as hard as I can, try to get into the groove of it and then [use] any opportunity to sniff a goal out.

"Obviously I made an impact last season. It's not really any frustration from me. I'm young, there's still a lot more to do hopefully, a lot more I can do. So, I'm looking forward to it."

Danns was not the only youngster to contribute to the hosts' progression to round four of the FA Cup.

Rio Ngumoha's starting berth saw him become the club's second-youngest debutant, with the 16-year-old going on to impress prior to making way for Danns.

"You saw his feet, he's lightning," Danns said with a smile. "I'm so proud of him and I'm sure his family is proud too."
