NewsJarell Quansah earns first call-up for England U21s
The 20-year-old centre-back has been recognised for his form with Liverpool’s senior side so far in 2023-24 by earning a spot with the Young Lions for their U21 European Championship qualifiers against Serbia and Ukraine.
Quansah, who completed an impressive 90 minutes against Union SG on Thursday night, has five appearances for the Reds to his name so far this term.
He is joined in the U21 ranks by teammate Elliott for the two fixtures, which see England host Serbia at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground on October 12 and then face Ukraine in Slovakia on October 16.
Luke Chambers, meanwhile, is set to join up with England’s Euro Elite League squad, formerly known as the country’s U20s. They face Romania in Bucharest on October 12 and then host Portugal in Milton Keynes on October 17.
At U19 level, Calum Scanlon is part of the squad that will have three fixtures in the U19 European Championship qualifying round. They travel to Montenegro to face the hosts (October 11), Wales (October 14) and Austria (October 17).
Jayden Danns will be with the U18s group that competes in a four-team tournament in Spain. England meet Belgium (October 11), Morocco (October 14) and Korea Republic (October 17).
And Trey Nyoni has been called up for England U17s, who will take on Norway in a double-header at St. George’s Park scheduled for October 11 and 13.
