Academy'It's a really good feeling to play for Liverpool in Europe'
While Oakley Cannonier has taken the plaudits for his five goals in the competition to date, at the heart of the engine room Corness has helped to lay the foundations for his team's impressive form.
With Stefan Bajcetic playing more of a prominent role with senior squad involvement, head coach Barry Lewtas has handed Corness the No.6 shirt and it's a role that he has taken to admirably.
The 19-year-old Scouser – who has been at the Academy since the age of five – was again a standout performer as the young Reds beat Rangers 4-1 in Kirkby last week.
The two sides meet again in Group A in Scotland this afternoon, with Lewtas' charges aiming to record a fourth consecutive win in the Youth League this season.
The game takes place at Partick Thistle FC, with kick-off set for 3pm BST – and supporters can watch it live on LFCTV and LFCTV GO.

"I'm just trying to be as consistent as possible," Corness told Liverpoolfc.com. "I think I've had a good start to the month as well as the team, so I will just keep working hard and try to be better in each game I play.
"I'm one of the older ones in the U19s group now, so I'm trying to take more responsibility."
After reaching the quarter-finals of the Youth League last season, this term the Reds have beaten Napoli, Ajax and Rangers with three impressive displays.
Corness described the good mix of U18 and U21 players in the group, with everyone keen to express themselves on the big stage.
"It's a really good feeling to play for Liverpool in Europe, we have made a good start to the group," he added. "We are all really enjoying it, the team blends really well the way we are playing.
"We know Rangers are a good team, we played very well against them last week at home and we will have to be at our best again on Wednesday to get the right result."
Cannonier has caught the eye with five goals in the Youth League so far this term.
On Saturday, meanwhile, the striker came off the bench to net twice, including a sublime effort from 25 yards out that flew into the top corner of the net.
They were Cannonier's first goals at both U21 level and in Premier League 2, and Corness believes there is much more to come.
"I'm with Oakley every day in training and we all know what he is capable of," he said. "His first one he scored for the U21s was brilliant.
"That kind of strike might come of some surprise to some people but not to us because we know the ability he has, and he does that in training every day."
