Reaction'It was a proud moment for me and my family'
At the beginning of the month, the goalkeeper was part of the England squad that won the U19 European Championship in Slovakia alongside Academy teammates Luke Chambers and Jarell Quansah.
Davies was then quickly back on his travels as part of Liverpool’s 37-man squad for the pre-season tour of Thailand and Singapore this week.
And the Scouser – who joined the club as an U9 – enjoyed another step in his career by making his first appearance for the Reds’ senior team on Friday, playing half an hour of the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Post-match at Singapore National Stadium, Liverpoolfc.com caught up with Davies to reflect on a whirlwind few weeks and discuss a proud moment for the stopper and his family.

Harvey, a good night’s work – two goals and a clean sheet as well…
It was obviously really special for me – first game I’ve played so now the debut is done. It was nice to do it out here in Singapore in front of all these fans as well. It’s a really proud moment for me and my family. I know they were all watching back home; it was a bit of a shame they couldn’t be here but I know they will be absolutely really proud of me and I’m really happy for myself as well.
It’s been a miraculous couple of weeks for you, probably the highlight of your career playing in front of 50,000 people tonight…
Definitely. It’s right up there, it definitely is in the top. Like I say, it’s an incredibly proud moment and I’ll never forget this.
What have you got from the last week, training alongside the first team? I know you are back at the AXA doing the same, but working every single day on the things you will take into next season…
Exactly. We work on all things we face in the game: crossing, distribution, shot-stopping. I had bits to do tonight and I’m pleased with how I played. I think the team did well as well.
You could see that sharpness coming back as well, loads of improvement from the Manchester United game…
Definitely. I think we played much better as a team and that showed. It was a strong performance, a good score and the team did well.
What’s the aim now for you for the next couple of weeks?
To keep cracking on, keep making next steps. I made a step tonight. And pretty much just keep going up and try not to slow down and just keep making the same progress that I can.
