Conor Bradley relished another memorable Anfield experience that ‘still blows my mind’ as Liverpool reached the Carabao Cup final.

The Northern Ireland international played his part in a confident 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night that sent the Reds to Wembley.

Goals from Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai – assisted by Bradley – and Virgil van Dijk comfortably overturned a 1-0 deficit in the last-four tie.

Bradley, who replaced the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold in Arne Slot’s XI, was toasted again by the home supporters with the singing of his name.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com afterwards, the No.84 discussed the emotions on the evening, the challenge Newcastle United will pose in the March 16 final, and the work that must be done in the five weeks before then.

Read Bradley’s reaction below…

On how it feels to have reached another Wembley final…

Really, really happy. Obviously we knew it was going to be a tough game and we’re just really glad to get the 4-0 win and get through to the final. Really looking forward to the final now and hopefully we can bring another trophy home as well.

On having to be patient during the game and the importance of getting the first goal…

Yeah, definitely. I think we just had to play the same football we have been playing. As you said, get that first goal, tick that off and then move on to the second. I felt once we got the second the game opened up a lot more and we were able to get the third and fourth.

On the mindset of the squad to keep going and going…

I think that’s one of the great things we’ve got in the squad, we always want to push for more. Even when we scored the fourth goal, all the lads in the huddle were just saying ‘Go for more, go for more.’ That’s probably one of the best bits about this team, we’re just hungry for more and more.

On whether he has got used to hearing his name sung at Anfield…

It still blows my mind, I think it’ll blow my mind my whole career that I’m at this football club. It’s so special and I’m so thankful for all the fans for all the support they give not only me but the whole team. It’s obviously a special place to play football.

On Newcastle being the opponents in the final next month…

Of course it’ll be a tough game. Newcastle are a really good team, especially at the minute they’re playing some really good football. I watched them [on Wednesday night] and they were very good against Arsenal. So we know it’ll be a tough game but we’re really looking forward to it and hopefully we can bring another trophy back home to Liverpool.

On having to ‘park thoughts’ of the final for a while now…

Yeah, we’ve just got to park this now and focus back on the FA Cup this weekend and then the league again. We’ve just got to keep trying to win every game that we play and keep putting in good performances. Hopefully we can do that.
