NewsInternationals: Kearns captains England U23s, Koivisto scores for Finland
The Young Lionesses were led out by the Reds' No.7 and secured a 1-0 win thanks to a ninth-minute strike from Katie Robinson.
Hannah Silcock, meanwhile, was an unused substitute in the contest, with England next in action against Spain on December 4 at Burton Albion.
In the UEFA Nations League, Emma Koivisto started, recorded an assist and scored a goal in Finland's 6-0 home victory over Romania in Turku.
Linda Sallstrom struck twice for the hosts – with Koivisto setting up her first – alongside a Ria Oling goal, while Antonia Bratu received a red card for the visitors.
Koivisto scored a fourth for her nation, and Oona Sevenius and Anni Hartikainen rounded out the goals to put an exclamation point on victory.
Finland return to competitive action on December 5 when they travel to take on Slovakia in Trnava.
Lastly, Fuka Nagano and Japan were beaten 4-3 during the first of their friendly double-header with Brazil.
Aoba Fujino put the visitors ahead before two goals from Bia Zaneratto and an effort from Gabi Portilho gave Brazil a two-goal cushion.
Japan, though, struck twice in two minutes at the end of the contest, as Jun Endo first converted a penalty, ahead of Mina Tanaka's late leveller.
It was Brazil who had the final say deep into added time, with Priscila netting a late winner for her country.
The second fixture between the two teams will take place on December 3.
