Round-upInternationals: Jota scores again, mixed fortunes for Szoboszlai and Bradley
The Liverpool forward was brought off the bench at half-time of his country’s friendly against Croatia and netted three minutes into the second period with a close-range finish.
Jota’s second goal in as many Euro 2024 warm-up matches equalised Luka Modric’s early penalty, though Croatia would go on to win the game 2-1.
Meanwhile, Dominik Szoboszlai captained Hungary to a 3-0 home victory over Israel.
The Reds midfielder was substituted just before the hour but confirmed post-match that his withdrawal was merely a precaution with his side’s European Championship opener a week away.
Szoboszlai told M4 Sport: “I’ll be fine. My legs were a little stiff, I didn’t want to take any risks, that’s why I came off.”
Elsewhere, Conor Bradley was taken off midway through the second half of Northern Ireland’s 5-1 loss away to Spain.
