Diogo Jota recorded an assist for Portugal as six Liverpool players represented their countries throughout Sunday.

The forward stepped off the bench in minute 62 as his team faced Denmark in the second leg of a League A quarter-final in the UEFA Nations League.

Jota helped Portugal to a 5-2 extra-time victory on the night, assisting the final goal of the match for Goncalo Ramos, which saw them progress 5-3 over the two games.

Elsewhere in the Nations League, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo both featured for the Netherlands in their second leg League A quarter-final fixture against Spain, playing out a 3-3 draw (5-5 on aggregate) through extra-time, before being beaten 5-4 on penalties.

Van Dijk completed the full contest and scored in the shootout, while Gakpo departed the game after 78 minutes.

Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher started the Republic of Ireland's 2-1 win over Bulgaria in the second leg of a League B/C play-off in Dublin, helping secure a 4-2 victory on aggregate.

Andy Robertson, meanwhile, played 73 minutes of Scotland's 3-0 home loss to Greece in the second leg of a League A/B play-off - losing 3-1 on aggregate - with Reds teammate Kostas Tsimikas an unused substitute for the visitors.

And Dominik Szoboszlai was also involved for Hungary as they were beaten 3-0 by Turkiye in the second leg of their League A/B play-off, resulting in a 6-1 defeat on aggregate.

Ibrahima Konate was an unused substitute for France as they overcame Croatia 2-0 in their League A quarter-final fixture to earn a 2-2 aggregate draw after extra-time, before claiming a 5-4 win on penalties.
