Round-upInternationals: Bradley and Szoboszlai score with 15 Reds in action
The Liverpool full-backs experienced contrasting evenings at Hampden Park as, shortly after Bradley’s first-half strike – which saw him regain possession before bursting into the area and finding the top corner with the aid of a slight deflection – Robertson was forced off with an apparent injury.
Dominik Szoboszlai was also among the goals as he captained Hungary to a 2-0 friendly victory against Kosovo. The Reds midfielder opened the scoring shortly before the hour mark in Budapest.
There were also friendly wins for Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate.
Diaz recorded an assist before being substituted midway through the second half as Colombia beat Romania 3-2 in Madrid, while France and Konate – who played the full 90 minutes – defeated Chile by the same scoreline in Marseille.
At Wembley, Joe Gomez replaced the injured John Stones after 10 minutes of England’s 2-2 friendly draw with Belgium and in Frankfurt, Virgil van Dijk – who started and finished the match – and Cody Gakpo, a late substitute, featured in the Netherlands’ 2-1 loss to Germany.
There was heartbreak for Kostas Tsimikas as Greece were beaten 4-2 on penalties by Georgia in their Euro 2024 play-off final. Tsimikas played the full 120 minutes of the 0-0 draw in Tbilisi but did not take a spot-kick in the shootout.
Meanwhile, six Liverpool players were involved in youth internationals.
Harvey Elliott continued his fine form for England U21s by setting up two goals in a 7-0 win over Luxembourg. Both Elliott and Jarell Quansah started and finished the European Championship qualifier.
Luke Chambers and Kaide Gordon were involved as the England Elite Squad (U20s) overcame Czechia 3-1 and finally, Lewis Koumas and Terence Miles started as Wales U21s lost 2-0 to Morocco U23s in a friendly game.
