Reaction'I'm happy and confident' - Ryan Gravenberch relishing Liverpool form
The Reds made it five wins out of six in the top flight this term by overcoming Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 at Molineux.
Mohamed Salah’s second-half penalty was the decisive goal after Ibrahima Konate’s header in first-half stoppage time had been equalised by Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Midfielder Gravenberch maintained his record of starting every league game so far in 2024-25 and was named Player of the Match by Sky Sports against Wolves.
“Of course, this season I want to show myself again,” the Dutchman said upon receiving the award after the final whistle. “I think I’m [going] in the right way. I have to keep going. I’m happy.
“He [head coach Arne Slot] just put me in the starting XI and gave me a lot of confidence – and you see it. I think I’m doing really well.”
This latest victory moved Liverpool to the top of the division, with Slot the first Reds boss ever to win each of his opening three away league fixtures.
While naturally pleased with the team’s current position, Gravenberch cautioned of the long road ahead in the remainder of the campaign.
“Of course, I think a team like Liverpool always has to be in the top four, for sure,” added the No.38. “We keep pushing and keep pushing, but it’s still really early.”
