Interview'I'll give it everything' - Mia Enderby on year two with Liverpool
A summer 2023 arrival from Sheffield United, the forward made 20 appearances during her debut campaign with the Reds.
Enderby’s encouraging first year on Merseyside included claiming the team’s Goal of the Season award, and the 19-year-old is determined to progress further in 2024-25.
“I’ve just got to leave everything on the pitch and work hard in training and do the best I can in games and hopefully I can start some games,” Enderby told Liverpoolfc.com after Sunday’s final pre-season friendly, a 0-0 draw with Everton.
“I just try to do my best for the team. Obviously I tried to get a goal today, which was offside, which was frustrating. But the build-up to it, I wouldn’t have done it without the girls. We put a good performance in today.”
The stalemate against the Blues was Matt Beard’s squad’s first match at their new home of St Helens Stadium, where they will return this coming Sunday to open the Barclays Women’s Super League season versus Leicester City.
“It’s amazing,” Enderby said of the venue. “We had a lot of fans today, which was important to us and they got behind us. The stadium is beautiful with the red seats.
“Obviously we knew it was going to be a tough game. It’s a derby and we wanted to win, but unfortunately that didn’t happen today. But the girls stood up out there and we gave it our all.”
