ReactionIbrahima Konate: We're happy with the win - but we must learn from it

A 61st-minute penalty from Mohamed Salah at Molineux clinched a 2-1 victory that moved Arne Slot's Reds to the top of the Premier League.

Konate had broken the deadlock in first-half stoppage time, before his opener was cancelled out by a finish from Rayan Ait-Nouri not long after the interval.

Assessing the game when speaking to Liverpoolfc.com afterwards, the centre-half said: "Today was a big fight against Wolves. The most important thing today for us was to take the three points.

"We are very happy and now we have to be focused for the next game. But we have to learn about what we missed – and I think this is the most important [thing] today.

"I remember the first half was very hard for the team because we were late, and this is what the manager said [at half-time] – we need more concentration and more aggression when we start the pressing.

"I think when we came back [for] the second half we did it well [in] the first 15 minutes but afterwards it was a big battle again.

"But we expect this game today and I think we have to keep this on our mind and learn about what we missed today."

He continued: "It was very hard but to be where we are we have to fight, we have to work very hard – and today we saw it.

"Now we have to learn a lot of things about what we saw today and I think the games will start to be more harder, more harder, more harder. Now we have to work more in training to be more concentrated during the game.

"We are top of the league but it's too early to think about anything. But we have to keep going and we will see what will happen."

In addition to securing the three points, Konate took great satisfaction in opening his Premier League goalscoring account.

The No.5 rose highest to meet Diogo Jota's whipped cross into the 18-yard box and planted a powerful header beyond Sam Johnstone in the Wolves net.

"First goal in the Premier League and I hope it's not the last," Konate stated. "Yes, I'm very happy. It was a very nice cross from Jota.

"OK, I scored but the most important thing is that we won today.

"We work a lot on that and I hope me and Virg [van Dijk] will score more goals this season."
