NewsHow Wataru Endo is feeling the love from Liverpool supporters
Wataru Endo admits to being blown away by the love he has received from Liverpool supporters.
The Japan midfielder has been a much-heralded figure for Reds in the current campaign for his professionalism and performances whenever called upon.
The No.3 has also earned the honour of a catchy chant – to the tune of Abba's Voulez-Vous – being sung on the Kop to recognise his commitment.
Asked whether he has noticed more attention on him this season, Endo said on the latest episode of the Red Machine podcast, released by Kodansha: "Yeah, a little bit.
"Even this season when I play on the pitch, the Liverpool fans always try to support me and they always comment on my Instagram or X.
"So, I really feel like they support me. I think the fans love me!"
Perhaps Endo's biggest supporter is head coach Arne Slot, who is always quick to laud the 32-year-old's qualities on and off the pitch.
Endo has appeared 26 times for Liverpool thus far in 2024-25, with six of those occasions as a starter.
"Recently he [Slot] told me what I have done this season was really amazing and really helpful for the team," Endo continued.
"Because even if I don't have chance to play a lot, when I play on the pitch I always try to give 100 per cent to help the team. My manager is really thankful for that."
