The 18-year-old impressed in his 19 senior appearances last season before injury cut short that hugely encouraging breakthrough campaign.

He has returned to a new-look Reds midfield after the arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch in the summer transfer window.

"We lost some players, we got some new players and they can help us," Bajcetic told the matchday programme.

"Alexis we knew the most because he had already played in the Premier League with Brighton and I have played against him.

"It is really easy to adapt to playing with players like him and Dom, who is really good. They have given us a boost, for sure, and this is the highest level of football so you can always learn from the others, especially in my position in the midfield.

"Players like Thiago always try to help me and every day I feel like I'm learning something different. At my age you need to get more experience and I get that here, especially training with these players.

"I learn a bit every day and even when you're off the pitch you can still learn things. You mature as a person and that is important as well."

Bajcetic is looking to pick up from where he left off in terms of his own individual form prior to the injury setback.

Jürgen Klopp recently stressed how Liverpool 'really count' on the Spain youth international, who may earn further opportunities now following the departure of several experienced figures.

"At a club like Liverpool you need to always fight for your position," Bajcetic said. "It is never guaranteed.

"Anyone can play in any position, but I know that if I do my job and I push as hard as I can, I will have more chances to play and maybe not just at six. I played left midfield a little bit last season and I just adapt to what the coach says.

"I'm happy to play anywhere. If the coach put me at striker I'd do it."

Indeed, Bajcetic arrived at Liverpool's Academy in February 2021 from Celta Vigo as a centre-half that had the ability to push further forward.

A switch to a regular midfield role when he was still part of the Kirkby set-up brought great dividends for both the player and club.

Bajcetic reflects: "I wasn't an offensive centre-back obviously, but my main thing when I was playing there was bringing the ball out from the back.

"The coaches at the Academy saw something and have done a great job with me to put me in at six. They helped me a lot to adapt to the position."
