NewsHarvey Elliott: We can build on Tottenham win for the final two games
The Reds secured a 4-2 result against Spurs at Anfield at the weekend as they returned to winning ways.
Jürgen Klopp's men are now preparing for the last two fixtures of 2023-24, which will see them make the trip to face Aston Villa on Monday night ahead of hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day on May 19.
Elliott – who added his side's fourth goal in stunning style versus Tottenham – gave his reaction to the result and what it meant for the squad.

On a 'pleasing' victory over Tottenham…
Yeah, absolutely. We came here for redemption really, especially [with] what happened in the away game. I think we had a point to prove in this game after recent weeks as well and we did that definitely.
On the importance of getting back to winning ways…
As I said, we came here with a plan and we had to come here to turn things around, especially at Anfield. The home crowd were behind us from the first minute and the boys showed that. To score as many goals as we did and create opportunities for us to score even more was great and to get the win is even better.
On Cody Gakpo's recent form…
Cody puts his heart on the line each and every game for the team. He works so hard for us and on the pitch he's a pleasure to play with, and off the pitch he's an even better guy. We're over the moon for him. His recent performances and weeks have been amazing and he deserved that goal.
On whether it could've been a bigger lead at the break…
Yeah, absolutely. We had many chances and unfortunately we couldn't take them. But to go in 2-0 up is always a great thing and we built on it in the second half. As I said, we could've scored even more but we're happy with the win and we just need to keep building on it now.
On his stunning goal…
I've been practising it in training and stuff like that. [In] recent games I've hit the bar and hit the post and stuff but I'm just happy it dropped in. It's good.
On scoring at the Kop end…
It's what a kid dreams of. You go to bed dreaming of it and you wake up in the morning wanting to achieve the dream. Every goal is special, especially in a Liverpool shirt, but to do it at the Kop end and the way it went in with the crowd behind is amazing.
On the frantic finish…
We caused our own problems again. We're disappointed at not getting the clean sheet but it's three points on the board again and it's something that we can build on. Throughout this week we need to reflect on where it went wrong with the goals conceded and make sure it doesn't happen again. But it's three points and that's important.
On finishing the season strongly after securing Champions League football…
It's not what we [only] wanted to achieve, recent weeks haven't been good enough and we wanted to achieve a lot more. But with the crowd behind us and the last two games, we want to go out with a bang. We just want to win both of them. We have Champions League football next season – it's where this club belongs and deserves to be. There are going to be more special nights and hopefully we can put it right next season again.
